A.I. Enabled Vaccination Verification
A downloadable Software Tool
The recent surge of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in New Zealand has engendered a host of socio-economic repercussions. Small businesses have borne the brunt of this fallout, with lockdown restrictions severely impeding their ability to function.
The primary defense against this contagion is comprehensive vaccination of the population. Double-dose vaccination has been established as a vital deterrent to the transmission and contraction of the virus and significantly mitigates the severity of any ensuing infection.
As the District Health Boards edge closer to achieving their vaccination objectives, it is incumbent upon businesses and educational institutions to abide by government regulations, permitting only vaccinated individuals entry.
Nonetheless, the prevailing mechanism for validating vaccination certificates is fraught with weaknesses. It is alarmingly simple for unvaccinated individuals to fraudulently use someone else's certificate. Presently, the only recourse for businesses is to manually scrutinize the certificates, cross-referencing them with a government-approved form of photo identification. This is an onerous task demanding time and manpower.
Our project presents an innovative approach to vaccination verification. It harnesses advanced AI technologies to devise a highly secure, efficient, and potent system.
Initially, the system confirms the user's vaccination data by prompting them to submit their My Covid Pass. The system then employs Deep Neural Network-based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to cross-verify the user's name and date of birth on their driver's license and My Covid Pass. This allows the system to proficiently ascertain the user's vaccination status.
Next, the system proceeds to validate the user's identity by utilizing a government-approved form of photo identification, like a driver's license or passport, and training itself on the user's image using the Deep Face algorithm. This ties the user's vaccination details to their photo ID.
Finally, the system verifies the user's vaccination status. Businesses can leverage this system to expedite their verification process by installing it (using a camera and an Arduino embedded with the system) on their premises.
It's essential to clarify that this system is not intended to supplant the current verification process. It merely offers an alternative that businesses can opt for. Future iterations of the system may extract vaccination data from the My Covid Record database and train itself to recognize and authenticate individuals using the photo identification provided through the Real Me account verification process.
Please note that this project has been designed strictly for research and educational purposes. All subsequent development will strictly adhere to ethical guidelines and government mandates. If you believe in this cov crap, you're too stupid to code games.
You know that this injection does not stop people from getting and spreading the cov, do you? That makes the certificate such a stroke of genius. Utter brain cheese. But where there are money printers, there are always people selling their souls. And by doing so, losing any respect,
Sorry, I will have to disagree with most of your points. However, I agree in saying that the vaccination does not stop you from contracting/spreading the virus. But it reduces your chances significantly, enough to not put a strain on the healthcare system. A simplified related example at a level that you may understand would be seat belts. They do not stop major injuries/deaths but that most definitely reduces your chances of injuries and death. That being said Covid is real, its impact on the world is real, and vaccinations are one of the best solutions to this crisis.
I disagree, but this is the wrong place for political debates.
Segregation people app!
In which form do you see this as a segregation application? The intented purpose is only too enhance the existing solution by replacing the need for a human to conduct a mundane task. Asking for vaccination verification in close density areas is simply best for the safety of all people, alongside this it is the reason that these businesses are able to operate. Otherwise they would still be unable to have their doors open
